Zamfara abduction: Atiku advises Buhari govt on insecurity

Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice-President of Nigeria, has condemned the kidnapping of scholars of Authorities secondary colleges in Kaya, Zamfara State.

DAILY POST reported that gunmen suspected to be bandits on Wednesday attacked a Secondary Faculty in Maradun Native Authorities Space of Zamfara State and kidnapped 73 college students.

Mohammed Shehu, Police Public Relations Officer confirmed that the assault was carried out on the college at about 11:22am by numerous bandits.

Atiku on Twitter stated it’s now time to have a Faculty Safety Standby Unit deployed completely to guard colleges in areas liable to assaults

”I’m saddened by reviews of yet one more abduction of scholars in Zamfara. For a area that’s taking part in catch-up within the essential space of schooling, this continued assault on the bedrock of our improvement shouldn’t be acceptable.

”Maybe the time has come to have a Faculty Safety Standby Unit deployed completely to guard colleges in areas susceptible to those assaults. If we don’t take preemptive actions, I concern that schooling within the already deprived areas could endure irreversible losses.

”In the meantime, I hope that no effort will likely be spared for a speedy restoration of the scholars.”
