Wole Soyinka’s younger brother dies at 85

Professor Olufemi Soyinka, the youthful brother of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, has died on the age of 85.

 

He died on Tuesday, June 15, at his residence in Kukumada Village, Ibadan, Oyo State.

 

His household launched a press release that reads: “The Soyinka Household of Ake/Isara, Ogun State, has introduced the passing of their father, grandfather, nice grandfather, brother, uncle Professor Femi Soyinka, which occurred within the early hours of Tuesday, 14 June 2022 at his dwelling in Kukumada Village, Ibadan, Oyo State.

 

“He’s survived by his spouse, kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

“Burial preparations could be introduced by the household later.”

 

He was an authorized dermatologist, venereologist, and allergologist.
