Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni, 76, wins his sixth term as President

The 76-year-old was declared winner of the polls after defeating ten different candidates together with main challenger, Bobi Wine of the Nationwide Unity Platform.

With the declaration, Museveni is ready to be sworn in on Might 12 for his sixth time period, which expires in 2026.

However his most important challenger, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, 38 has rejected the outcomes citing widespread voter fraud and heavy crackdown on his supporters, and additional declaring himself as “President-Elect”.
