UCH doctors suspend strike – Daily Post Nigeria




Resident Docs (ARD), College Faculty Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on Monday, suspended its 51-day-old strike.


President of the affiliation in UCH, Dr Temitope Hussein, instructed the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan that the choice was reached after a few of their calls for had been met.

Hussein mentioned that members of the affiliation being owed, had been paid their 4 months wage arrears, protecting January to April.

“We are going to proceed to place strain on the federal government to ensure that Could wage and subsequent ones are paid.

“We can even proceed to demand that members but to be enrolled into Built-in Payroll and Personnel Info System (IPPIS) are captured,” he mentioned.

Recall that the affiliation had, on Could 1, launched into indefinite strike owing to non-payment of salaries of 215 of its members.

The affiliation was additionally protesting non-enrolment of a few of its members into IPPIS, which, it mentioned, was affecting cost of their emoluments.
