Twitter gives update one week after Nigerian govt banned site




Social media large, Twitter, has confirmed it reached out to the Nigerian authorities, informing them of their willingness to satisfy over the suspension positioned on its platform within the nation.


The Federal Authorities suspended Twitter’s operation in Nigeria final Friday, on claiming the platform is getting used to threaten the nation’s company existence.

On Wednesday, the Minister of Data and Tradition, Lai Mohammed, who had introduced the suspension, advised newsmen that Twitter’s administration is in search of a “high-level dialogue” to resolve the difficulty that led to the suspension.

Confirming the Minister’s remark, Twitter took to its platform on Friday, saying, “Immediately marks one week since Twitter was blocked in Nigeria.

“We’ve knowledgeable the Nigerian authorities that we’re prepared to satisfy for an open dialogue to handle mutual considerations and see the service restored.

“We stay advocates for the free and #OpenInternet in all places. #KeepitOn.”
