Suspected killers of Zamfara governorship aspirant arrested by Police FIB-IRT team

The suspected killers of former Zamfara State gubernatorial aspirant and the proprietor of Famak British Faculties within the state, Alhaji Sagir Hamidu, have been arrested alongside 21 different crime suspects by operatives of the Power Intelligence Bureau Intelligence Response Crew (FIB-IRT).

This was contained in an announcement issued by Power Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in Abuja on Friday, Could 13.

In response to Adejobi, two of the 23 suspects arrested had been Sani Usman aged 22 years, and Mohammed Tijjani aged 23 years, each from Pai Konkore, Gwagwalada, within the Federal Capital Territory. He mentioned the suspects had been apprehended in reference to a case of kidnapping and armed theft alongside the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had been a part of the bandit syndicate which carried out the assault on travellers at Rijana, alongside the Kaduna–Abuja expressway on Sunday, November 21, 2021 during which they gruesomely murdered an ex-Zamfara State gubernatorial aspirant and proprietor of Famak British Faculties, Alhaji Sagir Hamidu and kidnapped a nursing mom leaving her child behind in a close-by bush” the assertion learn partly

Adejobi added that a complete of 52 firearms together with one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) Launcher, one Common Objective Machine Gun (GPMG), 36 AK47 Rifles, two English shotguns, 5 locally-made shotguns, 5 locally-made automated pistols, 4 pump-action shotguns, two thousand and forty-five (2,045) rounds of stay ammunition of various calibres, one DAF Truck loaded with 45,000 litres of premium motor spirit (PMS), two Motor Autos, three Cell Telephones, Two machetes, and 5 tear gasoline cannisters had been recovered from the suspects.
