Sunday Igboho: How helicopter to bring activist back to Nigeria was stopped




Mr. Yomi Aliyu (SAN), the lawyer to Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, has narrated how he was to be flown to Nigeria on a ready helicopter, after being arrested in Cotonou, Benin Republic.

Aliyu who spoke throughout ‘Frank Speak’ a radio discuss programme on Rave FM, stated certainly one of Igboho’s brother travelling with him earlier than he was arrested was the one bundled into the aircraft heading to Germany, not Sunday.

He stated: “As at right this moment (Wednesday) Sunday Igboho remains to be in police detention in Benin Republic, particularly in Cotonou.

“Whereas they have been combating with the brother, he was bundled again into the aircraft heading to Germany; he was the one in Germany now, not Igboho.

“He was already within the aircraft in Cotonou on his option to Germany along with his spouse and his brother was there too. Anyone fingered him out that he’s a needed individual.

“He was introduced down with the spouse and brother and a fracas ensued as a result of he was to be flown to Nigeria by a standby helicopter.

“However the spouse and the brother put up a struggle and began shouting on the airport, which attracted another Yoruba indigenes and so they got here to their rescue.”
