Strike: Cross River orders workers to return to work or risk sanctions



The Cross River State Authorities has directed all civil servants within the state to renew work Thursday, October 21, 2021, by 8am, or be sanctioned.

This follows a Nationwide Industrial Courtroom order directing indefinite suspension of the commercial motion declared by the NLC/TUC within the state final week Tuesday over its 14-point calls for.

In a letter signed by the Head of Service within the state, Mrs. Geraldine Akpet-Ekanem and made accessible to journalists Wednesday night, she directed all everlasting secretaries, administrators and different civil servants in all MDAs to renew work at 8am, stressing that attendance can be strictly taken.

Reacting, the state chairman of NLC, Comrade Ben Ukpebi, mentioned the strike motion will proceed no matter the NIC order.


He mentioned the reported NIC order was but to be launched, including that they, too, will receive a Keep of Execution order from the courtroom.
