Chukwuma Soludo, a former Governor of the Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN), has narrated the assault on his entourage on Wednesday in Anambra State.
DAILY POST experiences that gunmen opened fireplace throughout a city corridor assembly he attended on the Isuofia group in Aguata Native Authorities Space.
Three of his police guards have been murdered; the incident sparked outrage.
He informed Channels Tv’s Politics As we speak that the incident lasted “10 or quarter-hour of steady gun battle”.
The economist recalled that he was about to wrap up the assembly and request remark from these in attendance.
“By the point all of us got here again, we noticed three our bodies mendacity within the pool of their blood. They have been the three policemen. Could God grant their soul everlasting relaxation.
“I assumed the policemen have been taking pictures within the air. Till I started to listen to folks screaming and all of that and all people simply scampered for security.”
Soludo condoled the households of the slain officers and promised to assist them.
Soludo is the main governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the November election.
He described the assault as mindless, including that the race for political workplace mustn’t value human lives.
The Police have arrested 5 suspects linked to the incident.
