Social media won’t transform lives, join politics – Osinbajo charges youths




Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has charged youths in Nigeria to hitch politics.


Osinbajo made the decision on Monday in Abuja on the maiden Progressive Youth Convention organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) youth wing.

The VP, in his speech titled, “The Future is a Resolution,” mentioned extra political participation by majority youths would assist them to make significant adjustments.

“It’s evident simply from voter-turnout alone that the overwhelming majority of younger folks both don’t register to vote or don’t vote.

“Those that even take part in any respect would slightly interact inside the very constrained house of social media platforms or be part of stress teams.”

Osinbajo said that social media “don’t remodel the lives of thousands and thousands for good or in poor health”, and added: “In case you are eager on how the long run will end up, you should be concerned in politics.”

Recalling that he was in numerous teams, involved with corruption, human rights and democracy, Osinbajo mentioned it was solely in 1999 when the Alliance for Democracy received elections in Lagos that he entered into authorities as Lawyer Basic.

The Vice President added that it’s essential for younger Nigerians already concerned in politics to affect others to additionally take part.
