The Appearing Comptroller of Customs, Katsina Space Command, Comptroller Chedu Dalha Wada, says that smugglers are to be blamed for the lingering face-off between customs officers and the folks in Katsina State.
CD Wada lamented how Katsina youths in massive quantity, on a number of events will throw stones at customs personnel, scary them to shoot at them in the middle of discharging their duties.
In keeping with CG Wada, intelligence report has revealed that their actions are propelled by smugglers who normally entice the youths with cash, inflicting them to intrude and battle customs officers whereas discharging their duties.

Wada made the revelation throughout a customs/neighborhood consultative assembly on Monday organised by the Katsina Customs Command at their state headquarters.
On the essence of the consultative discussion board, Wada stated it’s meant to enlighten youths and communities on the actions of customs in order to foster concord and finish the hostilities towards customs officers within the state.
“We invited conventional rulers, spiritual leaders and different stakeholders to the consultative discussion board to enlighten them on the actions of customs.
“We’ve slated a date for a gathering with them (youths). We are going to go to the grassroots to satisfy with all these youths and deal with them along with the standard and spiritual leaders together with their mother and father, and we’ll observe them to the neighborhood and deal with the difficulty,” CG Wada acknowledged.
