Unknown gunmen have killed a police sergeant and an officer of the Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) throughout an assault on the group of “Operation Doo Akpor” in Bayelsa State.
DAILY POST learnt that the incident occurred on Sunday at Okarki junction in Yenagoa when safety brokers engaged the assailants in a gun duel.
Operation Doo Akpo is a safety group fashioned by the state authorities utilizing personnel from main safety companies within the state and saddled with the accountability of guaranteeing the security of residents.
It was learnt that the safety operatives have been ambushed by the gunmen who opened fireplace on the personnel, killing two and injuring many.

He mentioned, “Operatives of a Joint Job Drive codenamed Operation Doo Akpor, repelled an assault by unknown gunmen at a nipping level at Okarki Junction, Yenagoa.
“On 5 September 2021, at about 2030hours, Operatives of Operation Doo Akpor, at Okarki Junction got here beneath heavy fireplace by gunmen yet-to-be-identified.
“The gallant Operatives engaged the hoodlums in a shoot-out and repelled them from attacking their goal.
“Sadly a Police Sargent and an Operative of the Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps sustained deadly gunshots wounds, which led to their dying.”
