Police rescue 53-year-old woman who was almost killed in Mushin after mob accused her of touching a baby that disappeared

Males of the Lagos state police command on Thursday, June 16, rescued a 53-year-old girl who was nearly lynched by a mob after she was accused of touching a child who allegedly disappeared afterward.

 

The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this on his Twitter deal with, mentioned the girl was stripped bare and attacked by the mob. He mentioned the police bought to the scene on time and have been in a position to rescue the girl. He added that nobody has come ahead to complain of their child is lacking. 

 

Calling on Nigerians to cease job justice, Hundeyin wrote;

”We actually want to hitch palms to cease jungle justice. At 1810hrs right this moment (Thursday), individuals stripped bare a 53 12 months outdated girl (names withheld), began stoning her and have been on the trail of lynching her. This occurred at Alasalatu, Mushin.

The allegation was that she touched a child and the child disappeared.

Police bought there on time to rescue her. Lynch mob was dispersed with teargas. Allegation has not been confirmed.

No dad or mum/guardian has come ahead but to complain of a lacking child in that locality right this moment. She’s at present on the station. Her husband has been contacted.

Investigation is ongoing. Jungle justice just isn’t the best way to go. Say NO to jungle justice!!!”
