Over 50 gunmen invade govt offices in Nasarawa, cart away weapon, other valuables




Unknown gunmen have attacked Nasarawa State Native Authorities Civil Service Fee and took away one G3 rifle from an officer of the Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps earlier than gaining entry into the workplaces and carting away different valuables.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occured on Monday when the assailants numbering about fifty, invaded the premises.

It was learnt that the armed males overpowered the safety personnel on responsibility put up on the fee’s workplace positioned alongside Makurdi street, Lafia the state capital.

When contacted by DAILY POST on Wednesday, the spokesman of the state’s police command, ASP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the incident.

The PPRO was unable to present particulars of the incident, saying it was solely reported to the command of the NSCDC

“Their males have been on responsibility there when the incident occurred and the incident was not reported to the Police, we solely heard/noticed it on information too,” he stated.

Efforts by our correspondent to succeed in the Public Relations Officer of the NSDC, Mr Jerry Victor, proved abortive as at press time.
