Stakeholders within the Agricultural Sector have appealed to the Federal Authorities to intervene within the plan by the Onions Farmers Affiliation to droop the availability of the produce to the Southeast.

DAILY POST remembers that the Nationwide President of onion producers, Mr Aliyu Umar, had on Could 30 stated the affiliation would droop the availability of onions to the area following the deteriorating safety conditions within the space.

He alleged that two truckloads of the produce have been not too long ago hijacked by unknown gunmen within the area.

Mr Peter Dama, President of the Rice Millers Affiliation of Nigeria (RIMAN), expressed fear over the state of affairs saying the farmers might endure extra.

He pleaded with the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Funding in addition to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Improvement to intervene as a way to save the state of affairs.
