Olu of Warri dissolves council, committees as revalidation of chiefs begins




The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has dissolved the dominion’s conventional council, committees and sub-committees.

The dissolution is contained in a memo dated September 1, 2021.

The announcement was made barely two weeks after the monarch was put in because the twenty first Olu in Ode-Itsekiri, Warri South Native Authorities Space of Delta State.

The king relied on Part 25 of the Delta State Conventional Rulers Council and Chiefs Legislation Capt. 2, Legislation of Delta State of Nigeria, 2008.

The Warri Council of Chiefs, the Olu Advisory Council (Ojoye Ojisan), the Olu-in-Council, all standing advert hoc and sub-committees have been affected.

The revalidation and affirmation of chieftaincy titles shall start on September 2. Registration shall observe instantly.
