Obasanjo, Osinbajo, Amosun, Adeboye, Oshiomhole, Fayemi, others meet Abiodun in Ogun

Dignitaries from throughout the nation on Thursday, thronged the Iperu hometown of Governor Dapo Abiodun to hitch him in bidding his late father, Pa Emmanuel Abiodun, farewell.

DAILY POST recollects that the governor’s father handed away on August 2 at 89.

A funeral and thanksgiving service held at St. James Anglican Church, Iperu-Remo, had in attendance, former President Olusegun Obasanjo; Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; former Governor Ibikunle Amosun; Secretary to the Authorities of Federation, Boss Mustapha; Speaker of the Home of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila: the Common Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and the previous Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole.

The occasion was additionally attended by Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Abdul-Rahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara) and Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi).

Former Governor Olusegun Osoba; former Governor Gbenga Daniel; the Performing Nationwide Chief of Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo; Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Governor of the Central Financial institution of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele and lots of others had been current on the funeral.

Talking, Vice President Osinbajo delivered the message of President Muhammadu Buhari to the governor and your entire Abiodun household, noting that the governor’s father loved the grace of God.

Osinbajo mentioned the late retired trainer didn’t take the grace of God as a right, saying that he quite he gave again to his group by turning into a trainer of academics.

Delivering his sermon, the Archbishop, Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and Diocesan Bishop of Remo, Most Rev. Dr. Olusina Fape, enjoined politicians to make use of their positions to alleviate the sufferings of the plenty.

Fape reminded them that “The place we maintain in life is given to us by God to wipe out tears on the faces of our neighbours.”

Gov Abiodun appreciated dignitaries on the funeral service, saying he would proceed to carry on tightly to the morals and values inculcated in him by his father whereas alive.

Others on the occasion included the Chairman of the Nationwide Drug Regulation and Enforcement Company (NDLEA), Brigadier Common Buba Marwa (retd), and the President, African Growth Financial institution, Akinwunmi Adesina amongst others.
