NRC MD, Okhiria reveals those behind Abuja-Kaduna train attack



The managing director of the Nigerian Railway Company (NRC), Fidet Okhiria, has claimed vandals, not bandits, are liable for the assault on a practice service alongside the Abuja-Kaduna monitor.

Okhiria acknowledged this whereas talking with Each day Belief on Thursday.

He confirmed that elements of the practice monitor have been destroyed within the assault.

In accordance with him, an investigation has begun to find out what actually occurred on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.


An explosion led to the shutdown of the engine of the practice. A backup practice needed to convey the passengers at about 12:15am to Rigasa practice station in Kaduna.

The NRC suspended service on the rail line as a precaution, however Okhiria says they’re working to make sure it’s restored by Thursday night (in the present day).

“So now we have points with the monitor and we’re fixing it. We’re working to renew practice companies and by in the present day’s (Thursday) night, we must always run if doable,” he stated.

“We operated a practice from Kaduna to Abuja this morning (Thursday) however we needed to droop operations as a result of broken monitor till we repair it.”
