NIMASA condemns abduction of 5 maritime workers




The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Security Company (NIMASA) has condemned the kidnapping of eight Nigerians, 5 of them members of the Maritime Staff Union of Nigeria (MWUN).

The Director-Common, NIMASA, Dr Bashir Jamoh, in an announcement signed by its Assistant Director, Public Relations, Mr Osagie Edward, stated the kidnapping passed off in Rivers State waters on Monday.

He regretted that the incident occurred when the Nigerian maritime trade was witnessing large positive aspects within the nation’s safety sphere have been being counseled for the progress, each regionally and internationally.

“I’ve spoken with the President-Common of the Maritime Staff Union of Nigeria, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, to precise the company’s displeasure over the incident and unequivocal condemnation of this unpalatable growth.

“ I additionally assured him of the company’s assist, throughout this difficult interval until the kidnapped maritime employees are returned safely to their households and the trade,” he stated.
