Nigerian govt reacts to Coup D’etat in Guinea




The Federal Authorities of Nigeria has reacted to the coup d’etat, which occured on Sunday in a West African Nation, Republic of Guinea.

A video sighted by AFP had indicated that troopers took over the nation by suspending the present structure and reportedly detaining President Alpha Conde.

Reacting, the Federal Authorities in an announcement issued by Esther Sunsuwa, a spokesperson for the Ministry of International Affairs condemned the transfer by the navy, saying it violates ECOWAS Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance.

The assertion learn, “The Nigerian authorities is saddened by the obvious coup d’etat that has taken place within the Republic of Guinea right now, in clear violation of the ECOWAS Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance.

“The Authorities of Nigeria strongly condemns and rejects any unconstitutional change of presidency and subsequently calls on these behind the coup to revive constitutional order at once and shield lives and property.”
