Nigerian Army’s Stray Bullet Kills Nine-year-old Girl During Kaduna Polls




A nine-year-old woman, Zainab Bala-Umar, has been killed by a stray bullet from a Nigerian Military personnel at Gwanki Ward, Makarfi Native Authorities through the native authorities elections in Kaduna State.

Day by day Belief quoted an eyewitness, Alhaji Yahaya Gwanki, who stated the stray bullet was discharged from a navy personnel on Saturday in an effort to disperse the gang after the soldier was invited by a former chairman of the Makarfi native authorities who can be the candidate of the All Progressive Congress within the election.

The eyewitness stated the APC candidate, Alhaji Kabir Maiyere, had gone to one of many polling items underneath Fadamar Gwanki and whereas having a dialog with an electoral officer over some challenges of the e-voting machine, some youths needed to begin to shout, ‘ba na so, ba na so” which means “we don’t need.”

“Maiyere then invited troopers who shot within the air and within the course of, the woman was hit and died,” Gwanki stated.

In the meantime, the spokesperson of the State Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, stated navy personnel weren’t allowed to be on the polling items.

He stated the police would arrest the suspects, examine the matter and transient the press.
