Nigeria, Twitter need each other – Lawan reacts to ban




The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has damaged his silence on the suspension of micro running a blog and social community platform, Twitter, in Nigeria.


Recall that the Minister of knowledge and Tourism, Lai Mohammed, had final Friday introduced the indefinite suspension of Twitter’s operations within the nation.

Mohammed said that the federal government was compelled to behave due to “the persistent use of the platform for actions which can be able to undermining Nigeria’s company existence.”

The suspension of Twitter has continued to spark widespread outrage, with many Nigerians condemning the transfer.

Reacting to the event, Lawan stated that Nigeria and Twitter want one another.

He spoke at a briefing in Abuja to mark the second anniversary of the ninth Senate on Friday.

“Our perception is that Nigeria wants Twitter simply as Twitter wants Nigeria,“ Lawan stated.

“Our expectation is that we will resolve this concern.

”However past that, I’m optimistic and I imagine that every one of us would have learnt our classes.”

He added: “I imagine that is the worst degree we might get to. We can’t transcend this degree, it might solely be higher.

“I imagine we’re going to have a reversal of this example very quickly. We shouldn’t despair, we shouldn’t be despondent. We should always have hope and optimism that our scenario shall be higher.”
