Nigeria is plagued by insurgency, kidnapping – Okowa calls for prayers



Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has admonished Muslims in Nigeria to wish fervently for the unity of the nation and rise in opposition to all types of violence.

The governor made the comment in his goodwill message to Muslims within the nation as they have a good time Eid el Maulud, which commemorates the beginning of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

Okowa in a press release issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika in Asaba on Monday stated that Nigeria is at the moment affected by insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, armed theft, herders-farmers clashes and agitations which had continued to impede the expansion and growth of the nation.

In line with him, funds that the Federal and States Governments would have used for growth are being utilized in combating the crimes and defending lives and property of Nigerians.

The Governor particularly urged the Muslims and different non secular teams to accentuate prayers for wanted reforms for a greater Nigeria.
