Native doctor and others arrested for kidnapping

A widespread native physician recognized as Aneke-Ikenga has been arrested alongside two others for alleged kidnapping.

 

The suspects, Oko Chukwudi popularly referred to as Anka-Dede; Ifeanyi Eze aka Abrinanwa and Sunday Ede Aneke, had been alleged to have kidnapped one Amechi Oguama on October 20, 2021, collected a N10 million ransom from his household and by no means launched him until date.

 

Police spokesman Daniel Ndukwe, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects in an announcement, stated they had been amongst 45 suspected criminals arrested in Enugu between March and April 2022.

 

They had been arrested on March 22 and 24, 2022 by operatives serving within the CP Monitoring Unit.

 

Three alleged members of the gang, whose names are Chioma Uwa (feminine) aka Dr. Happiness; Chekwube Nwatu (male) aka Cheche, and Emeka Uwa (male) aka Akimbo, had earlier been arrested, arraigned in court docket and remanded within the Enugu Correctional Most Custodial Centre.

 

Ndukwe stated; 

 

 “The newly arrested suspects confessed to having been actively concerned within the kidnapping of the stated sufferer and the receipt of ransom of over N10 million by the felony gang. One Berretta pistol with 1.9mm spherical of stay ammunition was recovered from them.”
