Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Senator Ali Ndume, Chairman Senate Committee on Army, on Wednesday lamented that the N27billion for the army in the 2021 budget is grossly inadequate with the insurgency facing the country.
He stated this on Wednesday during budget defense at the senate.
Senator Ndume said a budget of N13trillion in a state of war, allocating only N27billion in a non-start state.
The senator representing Borno South informed that the committee has visited one of the military formations – the 8th division in Sokoto and we will pay similar visits to other formations across the country.
He called on the army to clearly explain to them what they have done and what needs to be done to enable the senate to know how to help them make and defend their case from the point of knowledge.
