Mob sets ablaze two suspected motorcycle thieves in Ibadan (video)

A mob have set two males ablaze in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, for allegedly snatching a motorbike.

The incident occurred at 6:45 am, on Thursday, June 23, at Ijokodo, alongside the Sango-Eleyele expressway. 

 

An eyewitness, who recognized himself as Dada Baloga advised Tribune On-line that the suspects allegedly snatched a motorbike at Ologuneru space of Ido Native Authorities within the early hours of Thursday. 

 

“This morning we heard that two boys stole a motorbike and snatched a bag containing an unspecified amount of cash round Ologuneru. Some individuals attacked the boys at Ologuneru, however policemen rescued them,” Baloga narrated.

“By the point some individuals following them on business bikes beat and stripped the duo bare round WAEC junction, the policemen that earlier rescued them on the spot of the crime in Ologuneru determined to vacate the scene, thus leaving them on the mercy of the mob.

 

“A part of the individuals following them from Ologuneru and a few Okada riders overpowered them (suspects) right here and had been interrogated. They confessed that they got here from Agodi Gate space, specialising in stealing bikes

 

“After they grew to become very weak following the extreme beating, the Okada riders scooped petrol from their tanks and used it to burn them. We referred to as the police instantly to save lots of the scenario, however there was no response.” 

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso confirmed the incident, saying he would give particulars later.
