Many Igbos have been brainwashed with none achievable Biafra — Chris Ngige




The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has responded to the fomentation of the Indigenous Folks of Biafra (IPOB), within the Southeast.


Ngige maintains that the separatist group had brainwashed the folks of the Southeast into believing that Biafra would deliver an finish to unemployment and financial challenges within the area.

Ngige warned towards such a notion, stressing that the Nigerian authorities was working in direction of resolving these challenges.

The minister whereas talking on Sunday at a stakeholders’ assembly of the Affiliation of Eze Ndigbo within the 19 Northern States and Abuja mentioned “Folks have been brainwashed and the separatists humped on that basis to now shout from the rooftops that we gives you Biafra and after we offer you Biafra, all this stuff will disappear.

“There isn’t any nation that doesn’t have its personal issues. We now have financial issues right here, which is why we’ve got unemployment and naturally, we’ve got a youth bulge in our inhabitants.

“About 60 per cent of them are youths and a whole lot of them are unemployed.

“So, the federal government is devising methods to deal with that. It’s a work in progress.”

The proscribed Indigenous Folks of Biafra (IPOB) led by Nnamdi Kanu has been on the forefront of the agitation for Biafra.
