Man arrested for allegedly attempting to bribe Navy commander over seized bunkery boat

A person has been arrested in Rivers State for allegedly making an attempt to bribe the Commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder.
The person recognized as Kenneth Sunday, allegedly tried to bribe the navy commander with N700,000 to launch his picket boat and a few drums of illegally refined diesel.
He was mentioned to have walked into the NNS Pathfinder barracks in Rumuolumeni space of Obio/Akpor Native Authorities Space with the cash wrapped in a white plastic bag and demanded to see his boat.
Sunday was then requested by a naval officer to establish and examine the consignment amongst many others that had been displayed on the naval jetty.
The commander who ready on the jetty, ordered his arrest and instantly paraded him and the cash earlier than journalists who had simply returned with the naval crew from an operation towards unlawful oil refining.
Channels Tv reported that the suspect denied that he was on the Navy barracks to bribe the commander and claimed that the boat he inspected was not his, however that of a good friend.
