Kidnappers kill and bury Zamfara polytechnic officer after collecting N4m ransom from his family
Suspected bandits have killed and buried a scholar affairs officer on the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic Talata-Mafara, Zamfara State, Sanusi Haliru, after accumulating N4m ransom from his household.
Haliru was kidnapped alongside the Abuja-Kaduna Highway on his option to attend a pre-NYSC mobilization workshop in Abuja. The abductors contacted his household and demanded N4m ransom for his launch, however the cash was not obtainable on the time.
A relative of the deceased, Mohammed Nasir, who spoke to Punch stated after elevating the N4m, the household referred to as the bandits and requested the place to pay the ransom.
“Their chief gave us a particular place and informed us that anyone can be there to obtain the cash. Once we arrived at that place, we couldn’t see anyone. Then abruptly, we noticed some individuals coming in our route on a motorbike and instantly they arrived, they requested us to supply the cash. We handed over the cash to them and certainly one of them informed us that our brother had since handed away.
