Kano man remanded for lifting woman’s veil without consent

A 28-year-old man has been remanded at a correction middle in Kano after pleading responsible to lifting a girl’s veil with out her consent. 

 

The person, Mr.Badamasi Abubakar, who lives in Dan Marke Hotoro Quarters, Kano, pleaded responsible to indecent assault at a Sharia Court docket on Thursday, June 23. 

 

The decide, Ismai’l Muhammed-Ahmed, adjourned the matter till July 27 for sentence.

 

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Inspector Abdul Wada, informed the courtroom that Summaiya Abdul of Dan Marke Hotoro Quarters, reported the matter on the Hotoro Police Station on June 21.

 

The prosecutor stated that the complainant alleged that at about 4:00 p.m. The defendant lifted her veil with out her consent and when she confronted him, he slapped her.

 

Mr. Wada stated the offence contravened the provisions of sections 165 and 166 of the Penal Code.
