Joint troops clear IPOB camp, recover arms, ammunition



The Nigerian Military on Sunday, stated joint operatives comprising 302 Regiment, Navy, DSS and police have cleared a camp belonging to the Indigenous Folks of Biafra (IPOB) and Jap Safety Community (ESN) at Idara Nnebo, Ihe Mbosi villages and Ukpor in Nnewi South Native Authorities Space of Anambra State.

Brigadier Basic Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Military Public Relations, in an announcement on Sunday, stated the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, three magazines with 5 rounds of seven.62 mm (particular) ammunition, two pump motion rifles and one locally-fabricated gun, three energy mills, amongst others.

Equally, troops of 103 Battalion performed a raid operation on IPOB/ESN camp at Nkwere Inyi Forest in Oji River Native Authorities of Enugu State, forcing the criminals to flee in disarray.

It stated the troops recovered one Lexus and a Toyota Highlander SUV suspected to have been snatched by the criminals.

In addition they recovered two bikes, one double barrel gun and 7 stay cartridges.

The assertion enjoined members of the general public to proceed to offer helpful and credible data on the actions of the felony components within the area.
