Jigawa govt loses N2.5b monthly to ghost workers

Jigawa State Authorities is dropping N2.5b month-to-month to ghost employees within the state and native authorities civil service.

This was contained in a report of the State Employees Verification Committee headed by Surajo Kantoga member representing Birnin Kudu constituency within the state Home of Meeting.

Presenting the committee’s report back to the ALGON Chairman, Bala Usman Chamo on Friday mentioned the state was dropping over N2.5b month-to-month within the cost of recognized ghost employees of state and native authorities within the state.

Kantoga mentioned the affected employees are academics and native authorities employees throughout the 27 native Governments.

“The committee throughout its train found that about 84 ghost employees, about 41 academics lack competency and permitted instructing qualification.

“The committee had additionally found that 29 academics have been promoted illegally whereas others have been not too long ago employed illegally.

Bala Usman Chamo whereas receiving the Committee’s report counseled the chairman of the committee and his members.

He assured of correct implementation of the end result to make sure sanity, transparency and social justice within the state civil service.
