Nigerian staff have opposed the plan by the federal authorities to slash their salaries.
Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Ayuba Wabba, famous that the plan was tantamount to a “mass suicide”.
Wabba regretted that the federal government is considering to unilaterally reduce the salaries of civil servants.
The labour chief described the declaration by Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed as extraordinarily horrendous.
“The query is which wage is the federal government planning to slash? It definitely can’t be the meager nationwide minimal wage of N30, 000, which proper now can not even purchase a bag of rice”, he famous.
Wabba stated staff are solely alive by hair’s breadth, including that their survival is a miracle.
The NLC president suggested the federal government to chop the humongous remuneration and allowances pocketed by political workplace holders.
He confused that staff generate income for the federal government, and don’t represent any pointless price or burden to governance.
