Hajj: Jigawa refunds N752m to 609 intending pilgrims

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has refunded over N752 million to 609 intending pilgrims who made deposits for the 2020/2021 Hajj train.

Government Secretary of the board, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Alhassan acknowledged this in an interview with newsmen in Dutse, the Jigawa capital, on Saturday.

He stated the Nationwide Hajj Fee of Nigeria (NAHCON) had ordered the board to right away refund the Hajj fare after the Saudi Arabian authorities introduced the ban of pilgrimage to some international locations as a part of measures to stem the unfold of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alhassan defined that 1,165 intending pilgrims had paid their Hajj fare for 2020/2021.

“Out of 1,165 intending pilgrims, 609 had been refunded whereas 556 didn’t acquire their Hajj fare forward of the following 12 months’s train,” he stated.
