The Oyo State Police Command on Saturday confirmed a farm buyer and an indigene of Benue State was killed at a farm in Fiditi, Afijio Native Authorities Space of the State on Wednesday when some gunmen numbering about seven invaded the farm.
Police Public Relations Officer within the state, Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the assault in a telephone dialog with SaharaReporters.
SaharaReporters learnt that the farm buyer was shot lifeless when the gunmen stormed the farm. A safety guard on the farm, recognized as Felix, an indigene of Plateau State, was kidnapped.
It was gathered that the safety guard later escaped from his abductor within the early hours of Thursday.
A supply within the farm stated the gunmen arrived on the farm when the employees had been closing from work. He stated out of the seven abductors, 5 had been armed with AK-47 rifles and different weapons.
He stated, “They arrived searching for victims to kidnap, with certainly one of them focusing on the farm supervisor, Mr Adelakun Sunday, as he was about leaving his workplace. Mr Sunday rapidly retreated to his workplace, locked the door, ran to his rest room and climbed up the ceiling to cover.
“After the entire wrestle, three expended shells of AK-47 rifle bullets and one empty cartridge shell had been discovered on the scene.”
