Gloria Okolie: Arrest IGP now, Nigeria will collapse – HURIWA tells NAPTIP; reports DSS, police to Buhari

Human Rights Writers Affiliation of Nigeria, HURIWA, has known as for the rapid arrest of the Inspector-Normal of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali.

HURIWA needs the Nationwide Anti-Human Trafficking Company (NAPTIP) to arrest the IGP and examine him over the alleged disappearance and enslavement the 21-year-old Imo younger girl, Miss Gloria Okolie.

The rights advocacy group urged President Muhammadu Buhari to name the police and the Division of State Providers, DSS to order, warning that their steady refusal to obey the constitutional rights of detainees underneath their lawful and illegal custody could result in imminent collapse of the nation’s democracy.

The human rights group mentioned this in response to what it described as “the continual mistreatment, gross dehumanization and unmitigated abuses of the rights of the attorneys to the detained chief of the proscribed Indigenous Individuals of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.”

The rights group mentioned the failure of the police to launch Miss Okolie on bail as just lately directed by a reliable courtroom of legislation says loads concerning the whole disrespect for part 6 of the 1999 Structure by the IGP.

As DAILY POST earlier reported, the 21-year-old Miss Okolie was arrested by the operatives of the Intelligence Response Workforce (IRT), on June 17, 2021 in Imo State and subsequently transferred to Abuja.

HURIWA says the police’s constant inclination to disobey the competent courtroom of legislation is a grave risk to constitutional democracy and should be stopped.

It says ordinarily, the IGP should be arrested and prosecuted for allegedly maintaining the woman away from her Dad and mom and attorneys for over 75 days and for the truth that she was purportedly transformed to a maid for the police.
