Gen Dzarma Zurkusu, 7 other slain soldiers buried in Yola

Slain Brigadier-Common Dzarma Zurkusu was buried on Friday on the navy cemetery in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Zurkusu was killed alongside 4 troopers in an ambush by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Uba Askira, Borno State, on November 13, 2021.

Previous to that incident, three different navy fighters have been killed in a separate encounter with the terrorists.

All of the slain eight navy officers and males have been buried at Gibson Jalo Cantonment cemetery Friday throughout a string of ceremonies, together with a day church service, that lasted into the night.
