Flight operations resume after plane crash in Ilorin airport

Flight operations out and in of Ilorin Worldwide Airport which was shut down on Friday following the crash-landing of Air Peace passenger plane have resumed.

The plane crammed to capability had a burst tyre, which resulted within the blockage of the runway and a complete shut down of operations on Friday morning.

The plane has been evacuated and moved to the hanger of the Nigerian Airforce, situated inside the airport, DAILY POST experiences.

Passengers onboard reportedly escaped demise by the whiskers when the plane burst its tyre whereas touchdown and a bang affected the cabin which led to baggage falling on them.

Air Peace airline commenced operations from the Ilorin Worldwide Airport on June 16, 2021.

Sources on the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, stated they have been instructed to handle the event, therefore “The incident was saved beneath wraps”.

” It’s a greater plane and now we have no gear, which explains the delay in shifting it off the runway within the final 24 hours since Friday,” the sources added.
