FG, Twitter in talks after suspension




Mary Leonard, Ambassador of the US of America to Nigeria, on Monday, confirmed that Nigeria is in dialogue with Twitter over suspension of its operations in Nigeria.


Leonard stated this throughout a closed-door assembly with the Minister of Overseas Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, ambassadors and representatives of the US, the UK, Canada, Eire and the EU in Nigeria.

Onyeama had stated the suspension of Twitter was within the curiosity of nationwide safety and peace.

Reacting, Leonard thanked the Minister for inviting them for the assembly and expressed satisfaction that the federal authorities and Twitter had been in talks.
