FCTA demolishes Fulani settlement in Abuja




The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Joint Job Power (JTF) has demolished a Fulani Ruga settlement situated very near Nnamdi Azikiwe Worldwide Airport, Abuja.

Chairman, FCT Ministerial Committee on Metropolis Sanitation, Mr Ikharo Attah, disclosed this on Sunday in Abuja.

Attah stated the Fulani settlement was destroyed because of the contravention of sanitation rules.

In keeping with him, the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, had expressed displeasure over the persevering with contravention on in and out-bounds of the roads.

He harassed that the Airport highway is a significant gateway to town centre of Nigeria’s capital, and due to this fact, all occupants must adjust to guidelines and rules.

Attah disclosed that the minister, who visited the affected areas two months in the past with key stakeholders, had held consultations with each residents and group leaders to sensitise them on the necessity to take away all of the contravention.

He stated, “The minister gave matching orders that the contraventions be eliminated. Since then, we now have been collaborating with district heads of the affected areas, giving them notices and warning.

“We have now really given them two months and there’s no compliance and that’s the reason we now have come to take away the contraventions.”

Attah added that with the assistance of a joint safety process pressure, the tempo of the train could be maintained to make sure full compliance.
