There was pandemonium in some elements of Sokoto State on Saturday as some residents, believed to be Muslims, stormed the streets protesting the arrest of the suspected killers of Deborah Samuel, who was lynched on Thursday for allegedly insulting Prophet Mohammed.

Based on SaharaReporters, the protesters attacked some church buildings alongside Ahmadu Bello Approach within the state capital, whereas demanding the discharge of the suspects.

A Catholic church and a constructing of the Evangelical Church Profitable All, ECWA, had been reportedly destroyed by the protesters.

Some retailers belonging to indigenes of the southeast who reside within the space had been additionally destroyed throughout the incident.

Efforts by DAILY POST to succeed in the Sokoto State Police Command failed because the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sanusi didn’t take calls and repeatedly shunned textual content messages forwarded to him.

In the meantime, the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has imposed a 24-hour curfew to curtail the riot.
