COVID-19: Lagos warns schools as academic session resumes

The Lagos State Authorities has directed faculties to stick to COVID-19 security laws as tutorial session resumes.

Colleges, together with mannequin faculties and people upgraded, will resume in batches as a result of West African Senior College Certificates Examination (WASSCE).

Folasade Adefisayo, Commissioner for Schooling mentioned the adoption of a uniform tutorial calendar would allow correct planning and guarantee college students attend courses for the required variety of days in a time period.

In an announcement on Monday, Adefisayo hailed stakeholders’ concerted efforts for the modest success recorded within the 2020/2021 session regardless of the pandemic.

The official reiterated the necessity for college directors to deploy all affordable methods for defense of pupils/college students and faculty personnel.

The commissioner assured that Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration will proceed the funding in training infrastructure, capability growth and welfare of faculty personnel.

SS2 college students looking for promotion into SS3 will resume September 19; new JS1 college students in mannequin faculties and upgraded faculties will resume October 2.

Different returning college students in JS2, JS3, SS1 and the newly promoted in SS2 are to renew October 9.
