COAS: Military opens up on alleged mass retirement of generals over Yahaya’s appointment




The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has dismissed rumours of mass retirement of some generals within the Nigerian Military, following the appointment of Maj. Gen. Farouk Yahaya because the Chief of Military Workers.


The Performing Director, Defence Media Operations, Brig.-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko described the report as false.

Onyeuko disclosed this whereas briefing journalists on Thursday in Abuja.

He stated that the retirement of senior officers from the navy was at all times voluntary, including that the navy excessive command was but to authorize the retirement of any officer.
