CBN board will determine Emefiele’s fate over alleged participation in partisan politics, not me – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that destiny of Governor of Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele over alleged participation in partisan politics, will probably be decided by board of the apex financial institution and never him.
Buhari stated this in an interview with Bloomberg. In keeping with the President, CBN’s board of administrators determines whether or not a CBN governor’s actions have fallen foul of the legal guidelines in place to make sure he can most successfully perform his duties.
He stated;
“The CBN governor is appointed by the President. However this appointment is topic to affirmation by the Nigerian Senate. Finally, it is going to be for the CBN’s board of administrators to find out whether or not a CBN governor’s actions have fallen foul of the legal guidelines in place to make sure he can most successfully perform his duties.
