BREAKING: Tension As Police, Army Clash With #EndSARS Memorial Protesters In Abuja

Armed safety operatives have blocked Nigerians youths protesting in reminiscence of these killed and brutality at Lekki tollgate in Lagos State and across the nation in the course of the #EndSARS protest on October 10, 2020.

The protest tagged #EndSARSMemorial kicked off from the unity fountain with demand for  finish in police brutality within the nation.



The protest, led by the human rights activists, Omoyele Sowore, Deji Adeyanju, and Pelumi Olajengbesi, was abruptly disrupted shortly after take-off  in entrance of Ministry of Justice by a mixed safety operatives together with; the Nigerian police, the military and the Division of State Providers.

The protesters insisted on marching to the Nationwide Meeting and the demand for justice for the victims of Lekki bloodbath however they have been prevented by the safety operatives led by the FCT Deputy Commissioner of Police answerable for operations, Ben Igweh.

The police and safety operatives requested the protesters to return to the Unity Fountain and proceed with their protest resulting in an altercation because the protesters stood their floor.

As at time of submitting this story the stand-off continued as protesters remained on the highway and vowed to not depart till their calls for have been met.
