BREAKING: Suspected Herdsmen Abduct Two Nigerian University Lecturers, Others

Two lecturers at Abia State College (ABSU), Uturu and others have been robbed and kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen alongside ABSU-Isuikwuato Highway.

Chairperson of ABSU’s Tutorial Workers Union of Universities (ASUU), V. U. Nkemdirim, mentioned the incident happened round 6 pm on Thursday, Punch stories.



He recognized the affected lecturers as Rev. Prof. S.O Eze of the Division of Industrial Chemistry and a Methodist minister, and Don Chris Afulike of the Division of Mass Communication. 

They have been mentioned to be travelling in separate automobiles.

In accordance with Nkemdirim, the 2 lecturers bumped into Fulani herdsmen who have been robbing motorists.

“After the theft, the herdsmen took the 2 lecturers and a few others away.

“As of now, they’re but to be seen. Nevertheless, the Camry belonging to Dr. Chris Afulike has been seen along with his cellphone contained in the car,” the lecturer mentioned.

Nkemdirim added that the households of the lecturers confirmed the incident, and the College administration has been concerned within the matter.

He additionally mentioned ASUU nationwide physique and obligatory safety companies have been contacted.
