BREAKING: Nigerian Police Fire Teargas To Disperse #BuhariMustGo Protesters in Abuja

Males of the Nigeria Police Power on Friday morning fired teargas cannisters at protesters in Abuja. 

The police tried to thwart the October 1 protest on Airport Street within the Federal Capital Territory, storming the realm and firing teargas canisters.



The protest started early Friday morning and was happening easily with the protesters, primarily youths, saying President Muhammadu Buhari should go and calling for a revolution.

The #RevolutionNow and #BuhariMustGo protest in Abuja coincides with Nigeria’s Independence Day anniversary. 

The protesters may very well be seen chanting and displaying banners and placards saying ‘Buhari Should Go’.

Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore had on Thursday urged Nigerians to protest throughout the nation on independence day to reject President Muhammadu Buhari. 

The activist was reacting to an announcement launched by a presidential aide Femi Adesina on Thursday titled ‘October Independence Anniversary: President Buhari to broadcast to the Nation’. 

“I’m urging all residents and non residents of Nigeria to boycott @MBuhari’s nationwide “INDEPENDENCE DAY” broadcast scheduled for tomorrow, as a substitute you need to partake in protests throughout d nation tomorrow to reject this man,the Failure-In-Chief of the Federal Republic #BuhariMustGo https://t.co/HbEQ0lpyPV,” he mentioned on Twitter. 

On Fb, thr activist posted,” What is that this Failure-In-Chief going to broadcast to the nation? #RevolutionNow #October1stProtest #BuhariMustGo.”
