The Nationwide Affiliation of Nigerian College students (NANS) has suspended its deliberate June 12 nationwide protest.
NANS president, Sunday Asefon, disclosed this in a press release on Friday morning.
Recall that NANS had earlier this month declared June 12, 2021, a day of protest.
The assertion which was titled, ‘NANS Suspends June 12 Protest Over Issues About Security Of Protesters And Worry Of Potential Hijack By Politicians – Comrade Sunday Asefon,’ partly learn, “Having thought-about the present safety realities and the hazard to the lives of our members in case of attainable hijack of the deliberate protest, I in session with all of the buildings of NANS, due to this fact, announce the suspension of our proposed protest for June 12.”
It added that the suspension of the protest was essential to keep away from a conflict of curiosity and conflict with safety companies on account of many different protests slated for the date.
The assertion added that the protest was suspended for the welfare of scholars, including that it doesn’t need to put the lifetime of any of the scholars in danger.
