Bororo herders chased out of Ojoku-Ikotun communities in Kwara

A band of Bororo herders with 1000’s of cows from Iseyin, in Oyo state, who tried to enter Ojoku-Ikotun axis of Oyun Native Authorities Space of Kwara state, have been chased out of the communities.

They had been chased out on Thursday at about 0800 hours by indignant youths of the group.

The well timed intervention of the Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps, introduced the scenario beneath management, DAILY POST gathered.

The chief of the band, one Alhaji Muhammadu, in response to an announcement by the spokesman of the civil defence corps, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, mentioned, “They had been heading to Lokoja the place his household resides.”

The spokesman mentioned civil defenders in Oyun division and the youths of the city, escorted the herders to the boundary of Ojoku/Offa axis earlier than withdrawing, whereas Offa division was equally contacted to do the needful.

Our correspondent gathered that the Bororo herders household with their cattle, arrived from Oyo state within the early hours of Thursday into the city.

Nonetheless, armed personnel of the NSCDC squad from Offa, accosted them at Igbowere in Offa Native Authorities Space and interacted with their chief, Alhaji Muhammadu.

Muhammadu, knowledgeable the squad that they had been heading to Lokoja by way of Ajasse-Ipo.

“All of the youths in Ojoku, Igbawere and native hunters with the presence of the civil defence corps armed squad, had been there to see them transfer to their vacation spot,” Afolabi added.
