Blind grandma rescues her grandkids from being sold to ritualists

A blind grandmother rescued her grandchildren after their mother and father deliberate to promote them to ritualists.

The 2 Akwa Ibom kids, Gideon Edet and Kingsley Edet, have been to be bought by their mother and father for N50,000 and N20,000 respectively.

Nonetheless, their grandmother, Mrs Bassey Ekong, heard the information and threatened to curse the mother and father in the event that they promote her grandchildren.

Chatting with Punch, Mrs Ekong stated a good friend to their mom linked the household who provided to purchase the kids to ritualists.

The mother and father then started planning to promote the kids however once they advised her, she cursed them and vowed to report the matter to the police, which made them abandon the kids.

She then grew to become chargeable for the children.

“I suffered to lift the kids by participating in menial jobs and weeding folks’s farm for meagre wages, simply to maintain the children,” Ekong added.

Nonetheless, she has now gone blind and finds it tough to lift her grandkids on her personal.

She stated: “I cry for these kids every day they depart for varsity with out meals and no writing supplies in school. Now, I can’t assist them. Their mother and father ran away as they failed of their plot to promote them to ritualists.”

She appealed to the Akwa Ibom State Authorities and non-governmental organisations to help her in coaching the kids as their mother and father had deserted them.
